The Hart County Historical Society and the Battles for the Bridge committee would like to take a moment to thank everyone who made our past events a huge success! The committee has been astonished and appreciative of all the support this two past years. First, thanks to the Committee Members, Munfordville Tourism, Munfordville Fire Department, Hart County Rescue Squad, Steve Caven and John Williams, for their efforts and support! The committee would also like to thank all of the presenters, living historians, and volunteers that helped with our education day. What a memorable day for all that attended! Students were able to step back in time for a glimpse of what it was like to be alive during the 1860's. Last, but certainly not least, we want to show appreciation for all our re-enactors! They take time out of their everyday lives to recreate men and women of our past. It is important that we never forget the sacrifices and true dedication by soldiers over 157 years ago. People often ask us “why do you all do this”? For us, the answer is simple. Hart County has so much rich history right in our backyard that other places would love to have. Everything that occurred here should never be forgotten. Many people died fighting for what they believed in, and thought it was the right thing to do. As long as our event continues, their sacrifices will never be forgotten. Our Battles for the Bridge Weekend 2021 event is scheduled for September 10th, 11th & 12th. See you in September!
