Our Committee

Thank you!

The Hart County Civil War committee would like to take a moment to thank everyone who made our 2019 event a huge success!  The committee has been astonished and appreciative of all the support this past year. First, thanks to Munfordville Tourism for their support, throughout the year. Secondly, special thanks to Munfordville Fire Department, Hart County Rescue Squad, Steve Caven, Clay Underwood, and John Williams, for their efforts and support! The committee would also like to thank all of the presenters, living historians, and volunteers that helped with our educational day. What a memorable day, for all that attended! Students were able to step back in time for a glimpse of what it was like to be alive during the 1860's. Last, but certainly not least, we want to show appreciation for all our reenactors! They take time out of their everyday lives to step back into history and recreate men and women of the past. It is important that we never forget the sacrifices and true dedication by soldiers over 157 years ago.  People often ask us “why do you all do this”? For us, the answer is simple. Hart County has so much rich history right in our backyard that other places would love to have. Everything that occurred here should never be forgotten. Many people died fighting for what they believed in, and thought it was the right thing to do. As long as our event continues, their sacrifices will never be forgotten. Hart County Civil War Days 2020 is coming up September 11th, 12th & 13th. We will see you in September!
